The purpose of this blog is to have a forum for Art, Quilt, and Creative Process discussions originating with the Fast Friday Fabric Challenge group. Anyone is free to comment on the postings.
When blocked I go to the mattress. What I mean is I put my bins that are chock full of fabulous fabrics on my bed. I take out pieces and let them start the conversation. When I feel the blood rush I know I am on to something. I get out my trusty rotary cutter and begin. If there is no excitement I put everything away and let my mind wander around. Eventually the ideas start bubbling and I am good to go.
I'm looking forward to the answers for this question. i'm currently in a slump; the ideas are there but i am unable to commit to one...completely unable to focus on actually "making" one of these ideas into reality. The FFF monthly challenge used to "make" me perform in the past; but for about the last 6 months i haven't produced anything for the challenge, nor myself! I need to get kick started; sewing creatively has in the past allowed me to overthrow the excessive serious side of my nature. i would like to be able to play again. Anna K.
Sometime there are just too many ideas and I can't get going on one. Must be sensory overload! If I can zero in on something that needs to be done and get some fabric under the pressor foot, I have a place to start when the time is available. Elaine Koenig
